What Is This?
We Are Checking is an F1 news site built by fans who have been watching every single qualifying session, every race start, and every baffling Ferrari strategy call since the Schumacher era.
Named after the most iconic (and least reassuring) phrase in F1 team radio, we deliver daily news, race recaps, and paddock analysis with the kind of commentary you would hear if your most opinionated friend also happened to have an engineering degree and a concerning amount of knowledge about tyre degradation curves.
The Team
We are a crew of lifelong F1 obsessives. The kind of people who can tell you the exact lap Vettel spun at Monza in 2018, or debate the aerodynamic philosophy differences between Red Bull and McLaren at 2am with alarming enthusiasm.
The Pit Wall
Our editorial team has collectively spent decades screaming at screens during wet-weather qualifying sessions and arguing over DRS zones. We have watched every era — from refuelling chaos to the V6 turbo-hybrid regulation overhaul — and we write with the authority of people who have genuinely suffered through a full Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the Trulli-train era.

Our Approach
- Opinionated but informed: We have takes. Sometimes scorching ones. But they are backed by years of watching data, studying telemetry overlays, and understanding what a three-tenth gap in Sector 2 actually means in race trim.
- Sarcastic but never cruel: We will absolutely mock a pit wall for calling a driver in on Lap 3 for hards. We will not mock drivers personally. There is a line, and unlike certain stewards, we are consistent about where it is.
- Fan-first, always: We write for people who know what an undercut is, who stay up for Suzuka at 6am, and who have opinions about gravel traps. If that sounds like you, welcome home.
Why “We Are Checking”?
Because it is the most perfectly F1 phrase ever uttered. It is said with confidence, it promises action, and it almost always precedes absolutely nothing happening. Much like our predictions about the championship, come to think of it.
