What Is This?
We Are Checking is an F1 news site that treats the sport with the exact level of seriousness it deserves — which is to say, we take the racing seriously and everything else with a generous helping of sarcasm.
Named after the most iconic (and least reassuring) phrase in F1 team radio, we deliver daily news, race recaps, and paddock analysis with the kind of commentary you’d hear if your most opinionated friend was also an F1 engineer.
The Team
The Engineer
Our head writer. Has strong opinions about tyre strategy and isn’t afraid to express them. Once described a Ferrari pit wall decision as “a masterclass in creative problem-avoidance.” May or may not have a shrine to Adrian Newey.
The Strategist
Handles the data, the facts, and occasionally reminds The Engineer that not every article needs to mention Ferrari’s strategy department. Rarely successful.
Our Approach
- AI-Assisted, Human-Spirited: We use AI tools to help us cover the sport around the clock, but every article is crafted with genuine F1 knowledge and a voice that no algorithm could replicate. All content is editorially reviewed for accuracy and tone.
- Opinionated but Fair: We have takes. Sometimes hot ones. But we try to back them up with facts and acknowledge when we’re wrong (which, unlike certain pit walls, we’re willing to do).
- Fan-First: We write for people who love F1, not for press releases.
